Breaking Down Language Barriers: A Case Study of Our Video Translation App
Our client, a global communications company, approached us with a unique challenge: they wanted to create a video calling application that could bridge language gaps during real-time conversations. The app needed to automatically translate spoken language, support multiple languages and offer a seamless user experience across both iOS and Android devices.
1. Complex AI Integration: Implementing AI-driven speech recognition and translation posed a significant challenge. We implemented an open source AI model for speech to text transcription, language translation and finally text to speech conversion.
2. Latency and Performance: Real-time translation added complexity to the app, as it needed to work seamlessly without introducing noticeable delays in the conversation.
3. Cross-Platform Compatibilit: Ensuring the app performed equally well on both iOS and Android devices demanded meticulous testing and development efforts.
4. Privacy and Data Security: Given the sensitive nature of video calls, we had to implement robust security measures to protect user data and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
We integrated advanced AI-driven automatic speech recognition and translation technology into the app. This allowed users to speak in their native languages, with the app translating their words into the preferred language of the recipient in real time.
