PiTangent, a leading software development company, embarked on a project to create SELR, an application designed to streamline the management and reporting of contractors working across various sites. The primary objective was to automate the process of identifying rejected contractors and those awaiting vetting, while offering customizable reporting options for users. This case study showcases how PiTangent leveraged modern technology to create a robust solution for efficient contractor management.
Manual Contractor Management: The plastic and polymer industry is highly fragmented, making it challenging for buyers and sellers to find suitable partners. There was a need for a centralized platform.
Inefficient Reporting: The lack of a comprehensive reporting system made it difficult for the client to track and share critical contractor information with colleagues and suppliers.
Data Accessibility: Contractors' data was scattered across different platforms and not easily accessible, leading to communication and coordination issues.
PiTangent built a robust backend using NodeJS with Adonis, integrated with a MySQL database. This allowed for real-time tracking of contractors' admission status and vetting, eliminating the need for manual record-keeping.
The frontend, developed with React, featured a user-friendly interface that enabled users to create reports based on various criteria, including company, name, visit purpose, and more. These reports could be shared with colleagues and suppliers.
To ensure that users were always up to date, PiTangent integrated a feature that delivered daily reports to users' inboxes, highlighting the latest contractor information.
PiTangent developed native mobile apps for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin), ensuring that users could access the system on the go, making contractor management even more convenient.
The implementation of SELR by PiTangent resulted in a transformation of the client's contractor management process. The system automated the tracking of contractor admission status and vetting, saving time and reducing errors.
